Andie & Jana’s Sparkly Eyes

So, while I was cruising Flickr tonight, I noticed that SNL Photography posted in the message area of our group about the Sparkle Eyes action I have up in the store. It’s not a hard technique to do, but the action is cheap enough that you can buy and save yourself some time and headaches. It was asked if they work well on dark eyes and I then popped over to the links Andie shared that she used it on.

Nice work! But then again, I love anything Andie shoots!

Marketing Schtuff

I had so much fun working on these marketing pieces for Carrie (one of our staffers here at Pink Ink Studios). Here’s a shot she shared with us in our Friends of Pink Ink Flickr group.

She had the 5 x 5 Trifold printed up at WHCC and it’s way cute! Don’t you think? We have lots of tri-fold designs in the store right here, and you can even purchase the same one Carrie used – in fact it’s called The Carrie Ann Collection!

Just another reason…

So, you can see this morning how the two sites are NOT on the same server and with the same host….one is down at the moment and the other isn’t. Part of our big plan is to get the store and forums moved to the new host on their own server. Our current host tends to be unreliable at times and well, the store and forums are our most active areas of our site. So, we apologize that it’s down…but the beauty of this plan is that we can still at least blog about it!

Hope your Monday is going off smoother than mine – I totally slept in. Back later with an update about what’s being chatted up in our forums!

Meanwhile – have you noticed that we recommend Borrow Lenses on our homepage? Go check them out. They have awesome customer service as we can attest! Thanks Max!

WordPress users – are you aware of the new 2.5 version? We just upgraded the Pink Ink blog and it worked great. For my personal blog, I haven’t tried it yet, but I use the Pro Photographer theme and talked to them and word is that things are going smooth from other users of this theme. Just wanted to give you a heads up – and be sure to backup your blog and database first!

From here on – the links I post in our blog posts will start having a place over in our blog roll in case you’re looking for them again.

Finally, wanted to share this picture I found in our Flickr Group from user KimBrimhall (a new friend of mine) – her kiddo took that shot! A budding photographer in the works folks – watch out for your future competition!

Our new blog…posted from old one.

Hi everyone! One of the first phases of our upgrades and changes has been to split up our site across two domains – just to try and relieve some of the load on servers. We have implemented a .NET account in addition to our .COM account. So, you’ll find that we’re slowly splitting things up across the two.

The first thing we have done is implemented a new main website look and features. You can go to www.pinkinkstudios.com but it should auto-redirect you to www.pinkinkstudios.net. If not, just click here and you’ll go to our new homepage. Please update your links to our site on your blogs! We’re pleased to share with you some of the new features on the homepage that you’ll start to see when we unveil the April/May theme next month.

The second thing is that we’ve officially moved our blog over to the .NET account. This means that your feeds will not be updating anymore unless you re-subscribe and update them to the new feed. If you go here, to our new blog, and scroll to the bottom left you will find the link to subscribe. We’ve moved all our posts over, but you may find that some of the images are a little out of wack because of the sizing we’ve got set up with our new theme. Let us know if you need help or want to let us know if something needs fixing. Our old blog will stay up for another month and then we’ll delete it.

So, that’s it for the first phase of updates and changes! You’ll notice that the text on our main site is a little sparse at the moment – we should be making it a little more interesting as time permits.

Thank you again for all of your amazing support here. We could not be where we are without you. We hope you are enjoying your weekend and are seeing more sunshine that I am here in St. Louis!
