Make sure to start a new document and have the brush tool selected to use the Brush Palette. From the Brushes Palette in Photoshop, click the small arrow in the upper right corner of the palette, and choose load brushes to activate the downloaded ones. Select the brush and click on Load. New Brushes will show up in Brushes Window. Now you can select the brush color and play with all the various parameters. Also you can change the brush size in the dialog box on the top left corner.
Special note - Brushes created in Photoshop 7 or later will not work in earlier versions of Photoshop. Any Photoshop brushes should work in Photoshop 7 and later.

Hello Readers! Wanted to showcase a couple of my favorite textures by the talented Andie Smith. I have to be honest and say I bought the Dustin texture because it has the same name as my son, but also fell for the Ryan texture. Well, my latest senior session sold them all!!
Thanks! Jackie

I love black and white photographs and that’s putting it mildly!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good color photograph as well, but there’s just something about b&w’s that draws me in. My all time favorite black and white action had been Andie’s Buffalo Lightroom action from her now retired Roadtrip presets. But then she introduced her Around Town presets featuring Preston Center and I was in love all over again. Almost every single photo that I’ve used it on so far has only required one click in Lightroom and I’m done. Every now and then I’ll have to adjust the exposure, etc, but that’s rare! Anyways, I just thought I’d share my new love! And, be sure to add your photos using all of your Pink Ink products to our galleries here at Pink Ink and in our Flickr Group. But be sure to let us know what Pink Ink product you used when placing photos in these galleries. Here’s a group of photos using Preston Center that I took of my little one in her Halloween costume…

Pretty soon Holly and Andie will be hitting the road on their adventure and lots of fun times and amazing photos are sure to come out of it. So let’s continue our features of some of their amazing products available only here at Pink Ink.
Andie’s new calender stamps have so many uses! Mine are pulling double duty for me this year, both as a marketing tool and as a product that my customers can purchase. CD Calenders are a fun way to not only display your calender, but also include an interchangeable photo for your clients to place on their desk each month. I also offer 8×10 calenders like the one seen below which I’ll be sending to every client that placed an order with me in 2008. Each calender is my way of thanking them for their business and quietly reminding them that if they have a session with me in ‘09 that they’ll receive another free calender at the end of the year! You can pick the stamps up here in the store!

The leaves are starting to change colors and that can only mean one thing…….time to start pushing those holiday sales! Holly’s card templates available in the store make customizing your client’s Holiday cards easy and affordable! You’ll have the card done in under 20 seconds and as we all know, time is money!!! You can pick up the cards here in the store!

Trends in Wedding Photography
Probably more so than in any other field of photography, wedding photography seems to constantly be evolving and changing to keep up with the trends and demands of today’s modern bride. “Day After” sessions are just one of the latest trends in wedding photography. Long gone are the days of the formal
stuffy pre-bridal sessions and worrying about getting your wedding dress dirty, now many bride & grooms are opting to shoot portraits a day, a week or even a month after their wedding in a more relaxed, fun and even sexy environment. Shooting portraits after the wedding day also affords the couple the luxury of spending every moment of their special day with wedding guests so they aren’t left wandering around at cocktail hour gazing at their watches wondering what’s going on while the bride & groom are MIA. Day After sessions are often taken in unique locations other than where the wedding ceremony was held that might have special meaning to the newlyweds such as a vineyard, an amusement park, a ballpark or perhaps the bride or groom’s hometown……the sky’s the limit with the stress of the big day being virtually gone and now the newlyweds can relax and have fun with their photographer and truly enjoy the experience. There are a variety of Day After session types including the ever-popular “Trash the Dress” session where the bride sometimes ends up in the sand or jumping into water wearing her wedding gown but if your bride spent a bit too much on her dress to even consider this option or hopes to hand it down to her daughter someday, then offer her a more casual session so even if a little dirt does end up on her gown, it can easily be cleaned and made as good as new. If you’re a wedding photographer, try offering this type of session to potential clients as an alternative to only shooting the day of the wedding and be sure to explain the benefits of a Day After session. How can a bride refuse the possibility of filling her wedding album with fun, casual, timeless photographs that she’ll treasure always??
